Great Opportunities and Mega Projects
The United Arab Emirates’ capita energy consumption is amongst the highest ecological footprints in the world. 76% of the UAE‘s ecological footprint is due to carbon dioxide emissions, resulting largely from consumption of energy and desalinated water. In order to move to a greener image and more sustainable future the UAE have to start at their biggest energy consumer: the buildings which are responsible for 70% of the energy consumption. This means there are a lot of opportunities for innovative and clever lighting solutions, both for residential and commercial buildings.
Another aspect, making the market very interesting are Dubai’s next mega projects which are already in the pipe: Expo 2020, the Dubai Canal, Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City, Dubailand… it is a never ending story! In order to build a bright future, Dubai and the UAE need the support of knowledgable, smart and capable companies which are able to support huge projects not only with products but complete and integrated design solutions suited from small houses up to the highest skyscrapers.
The Middle East Smart Lighting & Energy Summit 2014 has helped EBV and all other attendees to get interesting and great insights in the world dominated by visionaries, infinite capital, huge plans but also ecological challenges. It is going to be one of the most exciting areas to follow in order to help to build some of the worlds most fascinating buildings – hopefully with a greener and more efficient future.
