Entrepreneurship and Innovation belong to the core values EBV Elektronik stands for and that drive our business and people forward every day. Since many years already we’ve been working on topics, which can now be allocated to the Internet of Things (IoT). Whether sensor technology, connectivity or security, EBV has been continuously active in all these areas for over a decade. Thus, it makes sense then and it is consistent that we started the collaboration with the Innovation World Cup series just recently.
More than 10 years ago, Navispace brought its idea to life and created a platform, which is supposed to build bridges between large technology companies, such as like STMicroelectronics, Google, Samsung Semiconductors or Texas Instruments, and young businesses, start-up companies and entrepreneurs to be more successful in the market. Accelerating their business is the main objective.
Innovation is about introducing new breakthrough technologies and solutions in the market, out of which new ecosystems can evolve. It is about identifying and promoting the coming stars. This is what the global market leader for open innovation platforms want to achieve.
All the hard work, enthusiasm and creativity should also pay off in the end. Of course, the development of innovative products and solutions is in the centre of interest, but the best achievements will also be rewarded with attractive prizes. Participants have the chance to win prizes worth more than 300,000 Euros including free development kits or free co-working spaces.
On March 1st 2017, the Mobile World Congress set the frame for a big event. During a spectacular ceremony the winners of the last round were awarded, and at the same time the new IOT/WT Innovation World Cup 2017/18 kicked-off. For the first time EBV Elektronik is involved too. More than that! Developers can win a new special award, the “EBV IoT Hero”, worth 10,000 Euro!
By taking part in the series, EBV wants to share its expertise in IoT relevant matters like connectivity, security, sensor technology and many more. By providing focus development kits, either from us or our suppliers, we can offer significant support in the design process.
We want to enable European techpreneurs to bring their solutions to market successfully. Built on the vision of providing innovative developers with a platform to interact, generate new solutions and leverage existing ones through dedicated resources, the Innovation World Cup Series is an international reference point that fits perfectly and serves the strategic direction of EBV”, states Thomas Staudinger, Vice President Marketing at EBV Elektronik.

Start-ups and developers can register for the IoT/WT Innovation World Cup and submit their ideas and solutions in categories like home, city, healthcare or lifestyle. The database will be open until November 18th 2017, before the jury decides who will be nominated as finalist. The winners will then be announced next year at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona again. Good luck!
The Innovation World Cup will feature a couple of conferences in the course of the year. Have a look here to learn more about the events. Please also visit our website to get all information bundled up in one place here.
